Andrew has been the designated teacher of introductory weaving the Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild of NSW Inc (2-day and 3 day courses) since January 2014.
The aim of this course is to learn the basics of weaving on a 4-shaft loom.  We start the first night with looms that are already set up - so we can weave some samples and get some practice.  Students can then take these samples home.  We then plan a project (this time a scarf) working out how much thread (wool/alpaca/cotton/silk) is needed, and then work through the process of getting it onto the loom ready to weave.
The looms / equipment and notes are supplied.  Students need to bring Pen / Paper /Scissors / Tape Measure / and a large darning needle (capable of taking 8 ply wool).
